FS25 Gets Update 1.25 as GIANTS Teases Cancelled Game
The October 20 episode of NewsHarvest, GIANTS Software’s own news show, went out under the title “The Halloween Episode – We cancelled a game!” The studio’s social posts added a two-word epitaph: “Not coming back.” GIANTS did not spell out which project it was in the written summary, and the episode itself frames it as a bit of Halloween theater rather than a corporate announcement, so do not expect a formal statement. What the episode did cover in detail was the week ahead, and it is a packed one.
Update 1.25 for Farming Simulator 25
The same day the episode aired, Update 1.25 went live on PC and consoles. The headline features are animal workers, who can now ride and groom horses and lead and shear alpacas, which is clearly groundwork for the expansion. Vineyards can be planted year-round, a narrow-track version of the John Deere S7 Crawler was added, construction progress now shows in the HUD, and a long list of fixes went in, including the moon and sun finally being in the right place in the sky and twisters no longer flattening trees.
If you run a heavy mod list, check the official mod hub before updating, because scripts that touch animals or placeables tend to break on day one. It is the same story every patch cycle, and the same reason people in other communities obsess over having the GTA 6 mods latest version compatible build before touching anything. For authors, 1.25 adds a requiresPower option for moving tools, which is small but useful for anyone building vehicles with powered attachments.
Beans & Alpacas on October 27
Monday brings the Beans & Alpacas expansion for FS25. It is built around Catuaí, a Brazil-inspired map, with coffee and bananas as new crops, alpacas and Brahman cows as new animals, more than 25 machines and tools, six farmhouses that age over time, and 80-plus placeable objects. It costs $26.99 standalone and is part of the Year 2 Season Pass at $34.99, which also covers the Vredo Pack, SKY Agriculture Pack and the JCB Fastrac Two coming later. Pre-orders get 10 percent off.
And the other versions
Farming Simulator 26, the mobile and Switch entry that launched May 19, received Free Content Update #2 and patch 1.5 on September 10, adding machines and challenge-system fixes. It is the first time GIANTS has run two numbered games side by side with different content calendars, and so far the mobile side has stuck to its own schedule rather than mirroring FS25. Farming Simulator 22 is now more than four years old and still shows up at FarmCon and in GIANTS’ event schedule, mostly as the entry point for players on older hardware. Nothing new is planned for FS19 or FS22, but both mod hubs remain open and still get uploads weekly, which is more than most four-year-old games can say.
Short version: update 1.25 now, decide on Beans & Alpacas by Monday, and do not lose sleep over the cancelled project until GIANTS says what it was.
