FS25 Mud on the road V2.9.0.0
Mud On The Road brings visible mud effects to vehicles, trailers and roads, with tyre smears, thrown clods and accumulating mud.
Features
- Tyres release mud only when actual mud is on them, meaning the mud displayed on tyres after field work. Washed or clean tyres leave no mud behind.
- Muddy tyres create tyre-print smears on roads, yards and tracks while also throwing clods. The faster the vehicle travels, the farther the clods are flung across the road.
- As the vehicle continues moving, the tyres lose their mud. They become clean while the trail gradually disappears over several hundred metres.
- When the wheels turn through corners, the smears follow and bend with them.
- Existing mud becomes fresher and thicker when driven over, with new mud layers placed above the older ones.
- Every wheeled vehicle and trailer is supported, including vehicles operated by AI helpers.
- Rain removes mud from the road. Heavy rain clears it in about 5 in-game hours, while light rain takes around half a day.
- Dry conditions make the mud dry and pale. It disappears after about three in-game days.
- Activated sweeper brushes remove any mud they pass over.
- Use a bucket to scrape it away: lower a loader, telehandler or wheel loader bucket until its lip touches the road, then drive forward. The collected mud enters the bucket as manure in the base game, or as mud/dirt/soil when another mod provides that fill type.
- Mud is stored as part of the savegame.
- In multiplayer, the mud is visual only and calculated separately on each PC, creating no network traffic.
- Multiplayer is now supported.

V2.9.0.0
- NEW: Bucket Brush, Universal Bucket with Brush: a telehandler bucket fitted with a Cherry-style road brush. It includes a galvanised hood, black arms, yellow poly bristles and a hydraulic motor. Shop: Telehandler tools, £5,000.
- Operate it in the same way as any implement. Whether driving forwards or backwards, it sweeps road mud into the bucket. Once full, the bucket leaves the mud on the road.
- With the brush operating on the road, mud sprays from the bristles into the bucket and a real brushing sound plays.
- When the bucket is tipped, its brush swings clear under its own weight before falling back into position.
- The shop offers universal hooks, JCB Q-Fit, Manitou, Merlo, Euro (Claas, Kramer, Weidemann) or tractor front loader fittings. Hydraulic hoses connect to the telehandler.
- Changed, removed: clean vehicles no longer pick up and spread mud, and traffic no longer squashes clods.
V2.8.0.0
- New: a clean vehicle travelling through mud can collect some and spread it farther along the road. Traffic also squashes clods and carries them away.
- New: wetter and muddier work produces muddier roads. Ploughed and cultivated ground, root crops (sugar beet, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, onions) and wet weather create more mud. Stubble, direct drilling and dry days create less.
- New: once the ground becomes wet, dried mud appears wet again, and later dries back to pale.
- New: heavy mud left on public roads can result in fines. A warning comes first. If the mud remains, each check fines your farm, up to 2,000.
- Mud within 200 m of a Mud On Road sign never counts, nor does mud on your own land. Disable fines with
mudOnRoadFinesor through the settings file. - New: soil colours are brown (standard), dark (peat / fen), chalk (pale chalky soil) and red (red clay). Choose one for each savegame using
mudOnRoadSoilfollowed by the colour, such asmudOnRoadSoil red. Mud already lying on the road changes colour as well. - New console commands:
mudOnRoadSoilandmudOnRoadFines. ThemudOnRoadInfocommand now also reports how much of your mud is counted towards a fine. - Removed: the experimental sticking mud.
- Fixed: in multiplayer, mud sent while a player joins can no longer prevent the game from loading. The settings file was updated, and old settings files are replaced by the new defaults on first start.
V2.7.0.0
- Multiplayer: the server now syncs the mud, meaning every player sees identical mud on the roads. Players joining later also see all mud that was already present.
- Sweeping, bucket scraping, rain washing and drying now produce the same result for every player.
- New: tyres flick mud up on wet worked fields.
- New: during wet field work, areas close to the wheels become muddier.
- The settings file was updated. Old settings files are replaced with the new defaults.
