FS25 Moisture System V2.0.0.10

Moisture System adds a dynamic moisture simulation to Farming Simulator 25. It influences crop management, harvest timing, storage choices, yield, and crop quality.

Moisture levels change throughout the farm according to terrain elevation, rainfall, snowfall, temperature fluctuations, and day/night cycles. At harvest, every crop receives a quality grade ranging from A (premium) to D (poor), determined by its moisture content. Each crop also has its own optimal moisture window, while the grade affects the economic result when the crop is sold. Grade tables and seasonal moisture projections can be viewed in the in-game interface with Shift+M.

Features

  • Field moisture is simulated with terrain awareness and monthly variation across three separate environment profiles: Dry, Wet, and Normal.
  • Grass management includes progressive tedding, drying rates that react to the weather, and automatic conversion to hay once optimal moisture thresholds are reached. Additional tedding passes speed up drying.
  • Ground rot affects grass and straw piles that remain exposed. Continued rain exposure causes progressive volume loss as the organic material deteriorates. Hay becomes grass again when it becomes too wet.
  • Bale rotting records cumulative rain exposure for unprotected bales. Initial tolerance periods, increasing decay rates based on exposure history, and limited recovery during dry spells are included. Wrapping and shelter infrastructure protect bales.
  • The moisture meter hand tool can be purchased in the store for precise, on-demand readings of fields and piles. Its information can also be shown in the HUD.
  • Every crop species uses its own optimal moisture windows, based on real-world agricultural standards.
  • Moisture influences both yield and quality. Crops that are too dry will generally produce poor yields, while crops that are too wet will generally yield well but have poor quality.
  • Weather variability represents realistic seasonal patterns and has an effect on harvest planning.
  • Hovering over the moisture impact charts with the mouse displays specific yield and quality values for the selected moisture level.
  • The HUD shows the current crop grade, moisture, and quality for crops held in vehicles and silos.
  • Weather effects on ground piles are optimised to improve performance on lower end machines.
  • Existing crops created before the moisture mod was installed receive 100% quality and ideal moisture when they are first interacted with.
  • Settings are available for adjusting moisture dynamics, tedding efficiency, decay parameters, and interface preferences.
  • Your own weather profiles can be written by visiting GitHub and following the guide.

Changelog

2.0.0.10:

  • A Lua error that occurred when unloading through an auger/conveyor onto a silo has been fixed.

2.0.0.9:

  • Fixed a game freeze that could occur when a hail spell began without a hail strength set. This was most often seen with winter hail on maps without hail in winter.
  • With Weather Control OFF, only the map’s own weather is now used correctly. Before this fix, extra winter rain and hail could remain in the forecast after loading a save.
  • MacDon grain swaths now remain affected by weather until they are combined. They dry in dry weather, become wetter in rain, and slowly rot when left in rain for too long. Previously, they retained their cut-time moisture and quality forever.

2.0.0.8:

  • The hay conversion threshold, meaning the moisture level below which grass becomes hay, is now configurable with 4/6/8/10/12% options. The default is 8%.
  • The application of minimum and maximum weather profile temperatures throughout the day has been improved.
  • Fixed moisture tracking when Silo Extensions are used.

V2.0.0.5:

  • Support was added for the Bulk Hall silos from Highlands Fishing DLC. Crops stored in these silos now retain moisture and quality tracking, and they can be dried normally.
  • Fixed an MP Lua issue that occurred when players joined the server.

2.0.0.3:

  • Several weather profiles were tuned to account correctly for the way weather such as thunder affects moisture.
  • Grain drying now starts from the Moisture Menu with Shift + M instead of requiring a key press near the silo. This avoids some silo issues and provides more information.
  • Weather spell durations are now scaled according to the number of days per month. This supports planning field work around the weather introduced in v2.
  • The moisture system now controls the weather. Select a Weather Profile matching your region in the game settings. Many maps already have suitable defaults configured within the mod.
  • The moisture calendar has been replaced by a Weather information view containing seasonal forecasts and historical weather data.
  • The moisture to quality UI has been replaced with Moisture Impact, which displays how moisture affects yield and quality for a given crop.
  • Material rotting for both bales and ground piles has generally been eased. Materials now take longer to start rotting and rot more slowly.
  • Fixed grain drying not starting in multiplayer games.
  • Weather impact is now scaled according to the number of days per month.
  • Drying charges are no longer charged when depositing into your own selling station.
  • Crop drying rates have been tightened so that large crop volumes do not take forever to dry.
