FS25 Animal Food Calculator V1.2.0.0
The Animal Food Calculator, abbreviated as AFC, gives you an overview of animal husbandry in FS25. Consumption, production and selling prices are displayed directly in the animal menu.
AFC does not change animal consumption, production, prices, shearing times or husbandry capacities automatically. The original values stay unchanged until you intentionally activate or modify the related AFC features yourself.
Input and output display
In the animal menu, AFC displays the quantities that your animals consume and produce.
- Food consumption
- Water requirements
- Straw consumption
- Milk, manure, slurry, wool, eggs and goat milk production
This information makes it easier to estimate supplies, storage needs, feed planning and production quantities.
The values shown can vary according to animal type, husbandry and active mods. AFC uses the animal data that is actually available and displays only values that are meaningful for the selected husbandry and animal type.
Animal Value Advisor
The animal overview shows with AFC when your animals reach their highest selling price. A brief note is placed directly beside the current animal value:
- Xmeans the best selling price will be reached in X months.TOPmeans the animal is currently in the best price range.+Xmeans the animal is already X months beyond the best price range.
Example:
- 6= 6 months until the best priceTOP= the optimal selling range has been reached+4= 4 months beyond the best selling range
Price plateaus are supported as well. When an animal keeps the same highest selling price over several months, the complete period is marked as TOP.
The Animal Value Advisor works with the reference source currently active. Changing between Map, Custom, Basegame or AnimalPackage also changes the purchase prices, selling prices, transport costs and displayed best selling time.
Select reference source
AFC can obtain animal values from several sources. The chosen reference source defines which animal data is used for the display, calculation, scaling and animal prices.
This matters particularly when you use mod maps, custom animal values or the AnimalPackage.
Available reference sources:
- Basegame: AFC takes the animal values from the base game. Choose this setting when you want to remain as close as possible to the standard FS experience.
- Map: AFC takes the animal values from the map currently being played, provided that the map supplies its own
animals.xml. This is particularly useful with mod maps that have their own animal balancing. - AnimalPackage: AFC takes the values from FS25_AnimalPackage_vanillaEdition by BavarianRedneck. When the AnimalPackage is active, its animal types and values are handled accordingly.
- Custom: AFC reads its own
animals.xmldirectly from the mod. This choice is for players who intentionally want to adjust animal values without changing the map or other mods.
AFC verifies whether the selected reference source matches the animal SubTypes used by the current map. References that are incompatible are not offered when a map uses its own animals or different SubTypes.
The Custom reference is offered only when it contains every SubType of the map. If entries needed for a match are absent, the Map reference stays as the default values.
Scale inputs and outputs
Besides showing information, AFC can optionally scale the actual inputs and outputs in the game. This option is not automatic and has to be selected deliberately in the AFC settings.
- Play more relaxed
- Manage more realistically
- Balance larger farms better
- Make longer months more useful
- Set consumption and production higher or lower
Several scaling modes are available in AFC:
- Basegame: AFC applies no additional scaling. The selected reference source is used, but no extra factor is calculated. The multiplier is effectively 1.0.
- Auto: AFC calculates scaling automatically from the selected days per month. With more days per month, animals can consume and produce more during the month.
- Manual: AFC applies only the multiplier you select. Days per month are not added automatically. This is useful when you want complete control over the scaling strength.
- Hybrid: AFC uses both systems together. Values are scaled according to the selected days per month and then adjusted by your own multiplier. This is the most flexible choice for players who want to tune their balancing very precisely.
Own animals.xml in the mod
AFC includes its own animals.xml inside the mod for players who want to set their own animal values.
The file can provide custom reference values for consumption, production and animal prices. The Custom reference source can then use these values.
According to the animal type, the Custom file can include values for:
- Food
- Water
- Straw
- Milk
- Manure
- Slurry
- Wool
- Eggs
- Goat milk
- Purchase price
- Selling price
- Transport costs
With Custom selected as the reference, consumption, production and animal prices make up one shared AFC balancing profile. The Animal Value Advisor also uses the Custom prices.
This allows you to use your own balancing without changing the map, the base game or other animal mods directly.
Compatibility with EnhancedAnimalSystem and AnimalPackage
AFC is made for use together with EnhancedAnimalSystem and FS25_AnimalPackage_vanillaEdition.
When EnhancedAnimalSystem is active, AFC considers supported additional logic, including lactation factors, so that the display and calculations correspond more closely to the extended animal behavior.
