Your father traveled around the world a lot when he was young and earned a lot of money, which helped the island achieve a certain level of prosperity.
When he left the island, your community lived in old houses, without electricity, without water, without roads, without television or radio, without school.
In short, your ancestors lived like in the jungle, which is what most of your island still consists of.
He came back and stayed until your parents retired. You too have been on the road for a few years and are now taking over your parents’ farm, which has been dormant for a long time.
