FS25 Balmerino Abbey v1.0

Welcome to Balmerino Abbey! I’m thrilled to share this map, inspired by a real-life location in Scotland, with all of you. After pouring thousands of hours into its creation, I’ve reached a point of burnout and can no longer continue working on it myself but I’m excited for you to explore and make it your own.
The map is playable, though not without its quirks and imperfections. I built most of the assets from scratch, with a few borrowed from Giants as well, and you’re welcome to use anything here for your own projects. My hope was to lay a foundation for the community a starting point for crafting British maps at a time when the UK mapping scene feels underwhelming. Too often, maps seem driven by a chase for recognition rather than a desire to help players revisit cherished memories or forge new ones in farming sim games. Having watched this trend for a while, I wanted to shift the focus back to community and nostalgia, inspired by the British maps of FS17 and FS19 that I loved. My dream is for this map to evolve, to be converted to future games, and to remain a public resource maybe even sparking a wave of new British maps. If you see potential here and want to carry it forward, I’d be overjoyed.

That said, there are some known hiccups:
The sheep pen refuses to cooperate (we’re stumped as to why).
AI traffic splines are in place but glitchy, so most AI functionality is broken.
Icons still need repositioning.
Minor texture issues
Some buildings have rigid body physics but lack static object collision.
This map was a learning process for me a bit rough around the edges, but functional. If anyone’s up for tackling these issues and wants to share an improved version, I’d gladly update the public release once it’s ready. For me, this project has been a year-long labor of love, treated like an unpaid full-time job, and it’s taken me further than any map I’ve made before. Now, though, I need to step away. I hope you’ll enjoy what’s here and perhaps build on it to keep the spirit of British mapping alive!
